Quebec City, February 12, 2018 – XpertSea, the leading developer of technologies for the global aquaculture industry, will present the benefits of using artificial intelligence to track and manage aquatic organisms, at two upcoming conferences.
At Aquaculture America 2018 (February 18-22 in Las Vegas), Samuel Couture Brochu, Chief Technology Officer, will present “Artificial Intelligence to Gain Valuable Insight on Aquatic Organisms" on February 22 at 11 a.m. XpertSea representatives will also be on hand at booth #213 to demo XpertSea’s award-winning XperCount technology, which empowers hatcheries, farms and research centers to track and manage their aquatic populations with greater speed, accuracy and insight than ever before.
“AI is making big changes in how aquaculture production is carried out across the planet,” said Brochu. Aquaculture produces more than 50% of the aquatic protein consumed worldwide, but there’s a desperate need for new technologies that make it more efficient, profitable and sustainable. XpertSea uses AI to replace outdated techniques such as hand-counting and deliver fast and accurate insights on aquatic organism populations.”
At XI International Shrimp Culture Symposium & Trade Show (February 28 to March 2 in Panama City), Mariano Olguin, XpertSea’s representative for Latin America, will present “Inteligencia artificial en el manejo de organismos acuáticos” on March 2 at 9:h15 a.m. Olguin and colleagues will be onsite to demo the XperCount technology.
“I’m excited to present a solution that allows shrimp producers to count and size their organisms with greater than 95% accuracy, in a fraction of the time previously required,” said Olguin. “While our XpertSea Platform uses AI and other advanced technologies behind the scenes, for the aquaculture producers it’s a seamless and user-friendly experience.”
